    What we are

A growth agency for founders building software products. We take you past your network, to customers who don't already know you.

    01

    Who we're for

Founders building a software product, including teams selling into enterprise, with no customers yet or a few from their network but no way to scale.

    02

    What you get

Your first customers and design partners, then an owned growth engine that keeps compounding as you scale.

    03

    How we do it

We build trust with the market through founder-led content, then run founder-led outreach to convert it. No ads.

    The insight

No one buys from a stranger on the internet. So every business has to earn trust first.

A buyer has to trust the person behind a product before they hand over money — and online, you start as a stranger. Cold outreach asks for the sale before you've earned the right to make it.

You earn that trust by being helpful, not by selling — teaching your market before pitching your product. Be useful first, and the trust follows.

    Where trust gets built

    Your buyer checks four places
before they ever talk to you.

They ask ChatGPT. They search Google. They open their inbox. They scroll LinkedIn. We put your name in all four — through guides that rank and get cited, a newsletter to a list you own, and founder-led posts. All owned. None of it bought.

    They ask ChatGPT

“How do I solve [the problem you solve]?”

A clear approach is laid out in this guide [1] — start there…

Founder-led posts — familiar before the first call
    Then, one day

They need what you build — and they already trust you. That's the lead. No ad brought it in.

    Your edge

    It's the small things
    you obsess over.

Trust isn't won with grand claims. It's won with the details you obsess over behind the scenes — the way a great pizza place cares exactly where its cheese and tomatoes come from.

The founder showing that, on camera and in writing, is the most credible content you can make. We find that story and build the narrative with you.

    How we work

    Two systems. Trust, then outreach.

We're growth engineers, not campaign runners. We build two owned systems: one that earns trust and compounds, and one that converts the attention it earns. No ads.

Trust, over timewhy the order matters

    01 · Earn trust

    Content compounds. No ask yet.

    02 · Convert it

Outreach begins, into a warm audience.

    01

    Earn trust

It starts with the website, often the first place a buyer checks you out. Then for months we publish content that's genuinely helpful about your market's problem, not your product, and show the small things you obsess over. The goal is recognition and credibility, not leads yet.

    01.1

A website that builds credibility on first visit (built or rebuilt)

    01.2

Articles & guides found on Google and inside AI answers (SEO, AEO, GEO)

    01.3

A newsletter to an owned list of the right buyers

    01.4

Founder-led posts on LinkedIn and X

    02

    Convert it

This is where we engineer the outreach system. We instrument who engaged with the content, turn those signals into a targeted list, and run personalized, founder-led sequences that reference what each person actually read, across email, LinkedIn, and X. Built to win design partners, not to blast a list.

    02.1

Capture intent signals: who subscribed, read, and engaged

    02.2

Enrich and target right-fit accounts from that warm audience

    02.3

Personalized multi-channel sequences in the founder's voice

    02.4

Deliverability engineering: domain health, warm-up, sending limits

    02.5

Attribution and iteration: track replies, feed wins back into content

    Proof

    Trust shows up as numbers.

A number alone is a claim. Here is each one against the benchmark that gives it meaning. Real clients, no ad spend.

    Founder-led

Trust is personal, so the founder stays in the work.

Content and outreach carry the founder's voice and conviction, because that's what early buyers actually respond to. We take 5–7 engagements at a time to keep it that way.

    FAQ

    Questions founders ask

A product nobody has heard of has to earn trust before it can sell, so the order is trust first and outreach last. Better Marketing spends the first months on founder-led content: a site that explains what you built, articles that rank on Google and get quoted inside AI answers, a newsletter to a list you own, and posts from the founder on LinkedIn, X and Reddit. Once people are reading, outreach goes to those specific people and references what they read. No ads at any point.

Better Marketing does not run ads because a product nobody trusts does not become more trustworthy when you pay to put it in front of more people. Ads work when there is already a reason to click, which is exactly what a first-time product lacks. They also stop the day you stop paying, so the spend buys attention rather than an asset. The honest cost of this position is speed. If you need pipeline this quarter and have the budget to buy it, we are the wrong agency.

Organic marketing works without ads, and it is slower and less predictable than a campaign you can switch on. The trade is real and worth stating plainly. Ads buy attention today and stop the day the budget stops, while content compounds and keeps working long after the spend ends. Better Marketing has never run an ad for a client. What that costs you is speed in the first quarter. What it buys is a channel you own outright rather than rent, and a cost per customer that falls instead of climbing.

The trigger is having something true to say and nobody to say it, not a revenue milestone. A startup is ready when the product works for at least a few real users, the founder can explain who it is for, and there is nobody with the hours to publish consistently. It is too early when the product is still changing weekly, because an article written this month describes something that will not exist next month. Better Marketing turns work away on that basis rather than billing through it.

Hire the person if you want someone in every meeting. Hire the agency if you want output before you can attract that person. A strong first marketing hire at a company nobody has heard of is hard to attract and slow to ramp, and generalists who can do positioning, writing and distribution alone are rare and expensive. An agency starts publishing in weeks and should leave when an employee can take it. The honest limit is that an agency will never know your product the way an employee does.

The usual answer is a percentage of revenue, which is useless to a company whose revenue is zero. A pre-revenue budget is better set from runway and from what one channel costs to run properly for six months, because anything shorter does not produce a readable result. Better Marketing takes five to seven engagements at a time, so the work is scoped to what a founder can stay involved in rather than to a retainer tier. We will say when the money is better spent on the product.

Founder-led marketing means the argument comes from the founder rather than from a brand voice, because buyers trust a person before they trust a company that did not exist two years ago. In practice it is the founder's decisions, numbers and mistakes turned into articles, posts and newsletter issues, drafted by someone else and approved by the founder. It is not the founder doing all the writing. The part that cannot be delegated is the raw material, which is why it fails when the founder disengages.

Recognition arrives before pipeline and the order rarely changes. Founder posts start earning replies inside four to six weeks, because a person can be recognized faster than a domain can be trusted. Articles take months to rank, though a well-structured page can be quoted by an AI assistant much sooner. Outreach only lands once there is an audience to reach into, so it starts last. Better Marketing does not forecast a customer by a specific date, because audience size sets the ceiling.

Four kinds of company, and we would rather say so now than three months in. Anyone who needs pipeline inside a quarter, because trust does not compound that fast. Anyone whose product is still changing weekly, since content written this month will describe something that no longer exists. Anyone who wants a marketing function that runs without the founder in it, because founder-led is not a style choice here. And anyone who wants ads run, which we do not do at all.

Because founder-led content stops working the moment it stops sounding like the founder, and that needs a real person on a real call every week rather than an account manager reading a brief. Five to seven engagements is what Better Marketing can run without handing your calls to someone who has never met you. It costs us revenue and it is the reason the work is worth buying. It also means there is sometimes a wait, and we will tell you if there is one.
